That is why we use the term “dust-controlled refinishing” rather than “dustless refinishing.” Many companies advertise “dustless refinishing,” which can create the expectation that there will be absolutely no dust produced during the sanding and refinishing process. The reality is that hardwood floor refinishing is a sanding process, and while modern dust extraction equipment can dramatically reduce airborne particles, no system can completely eliminate dust 100%.

Our approach focuses on minimizing and controlling dust to the greatest extent possible through detailed preparation, professional containment procedures, and advanced sanding equipment. This includes:

• Commercial-grade dust extraction systems connected directly to sanding equipment

• Plastic containment barriers installed in surrounding areas when necessary

• Protection of kitchens, cabinets, countertops, islands, electronics, and nearby furnishings

• Careful cleanup procedures throughout and after the refinishing process

• Final wipe-downs of exposed surfaces such as countertops, window sills, and uncovered areas after containment materials are removed

We believe clear communication and realistic expectations are an important part of delivering a premium customer experience. While our systems significantly reduce dust compared to traditional sanding methods, a small amount of residual airborne dust may still be present during and after the refinishing process.
