Hardwood Flooring Gallery & Project Planning
Hardwood takes on different roles in a home, a historical room, and a recreation facility. Explore the visual collection on our homepage gallery, then use these questions to shape a project around your own floor.
Residential spaces — grain, light and continuity
Look at the relationship between the floor, room lighting, thresholds, and adjoining spaces. For your own project, photograph the room from several angles as well as close-ups of damage. Visit residential refinishing and color and finish options to explore the decisions behind an appearance.
Historical floors — character worth keeping
Age, grain variation, and earlier repairs can be part of a floor's identity. A useful restoration discussion identifies what you hope to improve and what you want to retain. Our historical restoration guide and original Mission explain the preservation approach.
Sport floors — performance starts with planning
Courts and recreation rooms involve markings, floor condition, traffic, and scheduling. See sport and gymnasium floor care for the details to gather before requesting an assessment.
How to document a meaningful before-and-after
Photograph the same view under comparable lighting, along with close-ups of repair areas and transitions. Record the condition, selected treatment, and finish scope. A transformation should be explained by what was done to the wood, not by different camera angles alone.
The existing visual collection shows hardwood spaces and surfaces. Images alone should not be treated as proof of a specific Grain House Hardwood project or location. We will discuss relevant work and available project details directly during your consultation.
Bring your floor into the conversation
Share your own photographs, approximate area, location, and goals. Tell us whether you are considering refinishing, a localized repair, historical restoration, or maintenance recoating. We can then discuss an appropriate assessment.
